Chapter 19: Harvest Party

In September around the Sonoma area, there are numerous events celebrating the fruitful time of year. The weather is still warm and nights are a little cooler at this time of year. While the Keating family vineyard patiently worked its magic finalizing flavor profiles in the fruit, friends and wine club members came together to celebrate the fall solstice at the Keating Family Farm in Sonoma.

It was a harvest party planned for all to enjoy the harvest bounty and to try wines from various friends and winemakers in the group. We shared an array of delicious varietals ranging from bubbly naturally fermented Malvasia Bianca, pinots (Onward Wines) to red blends and 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. QUAIL RUN was celebrated with the 2021 vintage.

The yummy wood-fired meal was prepared by our favorite chef and sommelier Travis Gee of @know.wine. We enjoyed the tasty bites and mingling while we listened to familiar music played by the mini band trio of Midnight Flyer (an Eagles cover band). The relaxed party atmosphere really gave everyone a chance to sit back and appreciate the good things country life fosters.

Flowers were so pretty showcasing hand-made ceramic vases created by talented Kala Stein. We were even graced with a charming art installation created on site by good friends Eduardo Repetto and Wazhma Randall who were visiting from Los Angeles. The tinkling sound of floating candles created a twinkling starry sight in the pool as the

evening darkness fell. Creative juices were flowing! It was a magical evening and one we’d like to recreate next year! Stay posted and mark your calendars now…for next year, Sonoma! Harvest 2025!
